PAX49 Log.
OK reception conditions but no super openings.

PAX48 Log.  PAX48 photos.
KUN had a fine expedition and TuA had a fine start too. Ended in a proton event January 15th.

PAX47   041218-050110
PAX47 Log.  -  PAX47 photos.
Slow start with only short openings when you could "see" through the geomagnetic smog!
Many hours with very sporadic reception from just any direction. But fair peaks if you could find the
right antenna and the right frequency for the few seconds a specific station was reportable.
NA reception several hours most of the days gave quite a few new ones in the log of all participants.

PAX46   041125-041212
PAX46 Log.
Fair to good reception at first. One very fine day and very quiet conditions. But a small proton
storm blocked out signals for two days more or less. After that it opened up again from the south.

PAX45   041107-041126
PAX45 Log.
Peter made his first trip to Parkalompolo the same day as the protons started to arrive from the sun
but he decided to stay to see if conditions would get better. It got even worse and just like
the corresponding LEM exp in Finland he had to experience how it was to have nothing from any
direction to listen to! It took ten days before it started to open up again. Slowly and for limited time of
the day. In November it is possible to hear NA almost around the clock under favourable conditions.
The last days meant more normal reception. PS is planing for more visits to Parka!

PAX44   041024-041103
PAX44 Log.
Lots of interesting signals from the Pacific. Marshall Islands and Tonga etc. Fairly constant NA and
Pacific reception with a few new ones heard.  This ended suddenly October 30th after midnight
when protons from the sun arrived.  From perfect reception to dead air in a few minutes.
Sigvard has published his part of this log as PAX42A. See below.

PAX43   041015-041024
PAX43 Log.
Very fine reception most of the time! Lots and lots of stations heard. Best ever Hawaii
reception noted!? Over a hundred reception reports to write for some of the participants!
Sigvard has published his part of this log as PAX42A. See below.

PAX42A   040925-041103
PAX42A Log.
This is a separate log from Sigvard covering his PAX42 + PAX43 + PAX44 participation.
Very good NA and Pacific reception for several days!

PAX42 Log.
Not too bad . Hawaii, Alaska and Australia this early in the season and signals for 16 hours
some days should be an indication that this season was going to be one of the best in a long time.
We did not have antennas nearly as fine as the ones we use now during the last
solar activity minima.  All wires inspected and termination resistors replaced after having been
burned by induction from thunder storms. The Japan/Australia wire replaced by a steel enforced
type of wire to guarantee that it will not break under heavy snow and ice coating..
Sigvard has published his part of this log as a separate PAX42A log as he continued his
expedition over the PAX43 and PAX44 expedition periods too. Compare PAX42A log above.
