WTAW College Station TX 1620 I first heard and reported reception of WTAW in the night of September 10th our local time and when I heard the station the night after with much better signal I wrote one report more and sent both in the same letter. (WTAW has been heard a couple of nights now in October too and is dominant on 1620.)Four weeks later an envelope arrived from the address 77805-3248 with two QSL card in it. Yes, that is all the address printed on the envelope! But with the Zip code system in the States this is enough! The cards are not signed and unfortunately the verie signer was thinking October when he/she was meaning Septemeber so the date should read 9/9/2000! On the second card it says 10/10 but I received the cards on October 9th!
WBEC Pittsfield MA 1420 The December 1994 expedition did not give much "gold". Only a handfull stations new for Sweden. But now when WBEC returned my post card with this QSL text after a new follow up letter all five have verified. I don't think WBEC have been heard again after this here in Sweden but last winter they were heard in Finland and it was when that report resulted in a QSL I sent this reminder. It looks like a good idea to send a post card along with the report as this is the secon time this fall the station has made use of it when verifying! TNX FR QSL Mark Powell, Nx Dir.!
KQWB West Fargo ND 1660 First QSL from this season. KQWB moved from 1550 to 1660 on September 1st and I was lucky enough picking them up 11 days later here in Furuögrund. The signal was quite fine at times and lots of details were noted. KQWB is probably going to to be one of the easier to hear on 1660 this winter as the northern lights tend to favour ND/MB stations. At least in the north of Sweden. Only the slogan "Star 1660" was heard and so the call letters were a little ?? As the slogan indicate the station has an Adult Standards music format. I heard the "old KQWB" on 1550 many years ago and I refered to the verie signer then in my letter as can be seen here to the right. Obviously my report meant "first international QSL" I hope CE Mark Borchert will keep sending QSL:s now when darker nights mean more DX reports from all over the world...
